The Mercury Elite Pro Qx2 offers four 3.5" SATA drive bays in a brushed aluminum enclosure with hardware RAID setting flexibility and up to 35Gbit/s data transfer speed,through USB3.0, for high performance data storage and redundancy. Configure the hardware RAID settings - NRAID, 0, 1, 5, 10 - via the front panel selector switch for the best combination of speed, capacity, and redundancy. The Qx2 can rebuild "mirrored" data in the event of a drive failure without needing a computer connection! Four interfaces-eSATA, FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB 3.0-offer Plug and Play connection with legacy and modern Macs and PCs. **For proper operation it is highly recommended that a matched set (Same model/Same Firmware) of Currently shipping/current model 7200RPM Drives x 4 be used. We specifically recommend Toshiba Desktop and Enterprise, Western Digital Caviar Black and Raid Edition 7200RPM Models. Currently shipping Seagate 7200RPM Barracuda models have also been tested and qualified. Use of 'Green' model drives with variable data rates, such as WD Caviar Green 'Intellipower' models, are not recommended for this RAID solutions in general and should not be used the QX2.
